Positive operating results despite difficult operating conditions

In the first half of 2010 results were adversely affected by the sell-off of remaining old stock and by negative currency effects. Operating costs were reduced again. Operating earnings (EBIT) was CHF 4 million. A positive net result is expected for the year as a whole.

Penélope and Mónica Cruz are testimonials for Charles Vögele

Charles Vögele Group has signed on Hollywood actress Penélope Cruz and her sister Mónica, also an internationally known actress, as testimonials for its Biaggini brand. They will be the faces of Biaggini's group-wide image campaign from autumn 2010.

The Board of Directors of Charles Vögele Holding AG has appointed Frank Beeck (42) as its new Chief Sales Officer (CSO). In his function as Member of Group Management, he is responsible for managing all sales channels, including e-commerce, from August 2010 the latest.

Rudolf Peter Scheben becomes new Vice President Group Marketing

Mr. Scheben comes to Charles Vögele from Takko Fashion, which he joined in 2004 and where he was Head of Marketing from 2007. He was also the company's press spokesman and was responsible for its visual merchandising. His previous jobs included Head of Marketing for fashion retailer Bonita. After studying economics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, he worked as a strategic marketing consultant. Rudolf Peter Scheben is married and has two children.

Image campaign for 55th anniversary of Charles Vögele Group

55 years of Charles Vögele – An extensive image campaign has been launched just in time for the start of the spring/summer season. Four 20-second TV adverts, made by star Danish director Jonas Arnby, are being screened in Switzerland and Austria. The ads feature people who feel so great in their clothes that they spontaneously put on a catwalk show.

The 2009 financial year saw the difficult economic climate continue in all European markets. Rising unemployment weighed down on consumer sentiment, which had a particularly harsh effect on the clothing sector. These market conditions inevitably led to greater pressure on prices.

Charles Vögele Group strengthens second tier of management

Following the implementation of its strategy, the Board of Directors of Charles Vögele Group has moved to strengthen the company's second tier of management. Two proven industry experts have been appointed to manage the newly created departments, Sourcing and New Channel Development. From 1 April the Visual Merchandising department will also have a new head.

Dr. Dirk Seifert will be leaving the company

Dr. Dirk Seifert, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Charles Vögele Group, will be leaving the company by own request to take on a new challenge. He worked since the beginning of 2008 for Charles Vögele. The search for a successor is initiated.
