The Board of Directors of Charles Vögele Holding AG wishes to make the following announcement:
Daniel Reinhard, CEO of the Vögele Group, has suddenly and unexpectedly been taken seriously ill. He must undergo intensive medical treatment as a result, which means that he is taking some time away from work.
To ensure continuity in the group's operational management, Chairman of the Board of Directors Bernd H.J. Bothe will also take on Daniel Reinhard's function on an interim basis. Mr Bothe will manage day-to-day business at our fashion retailing group together with the existing members of Group Management Werner Lange, Dr. Dirk Seifert and Dr. Felix Thöni. After six years on the Board of Directors, three as Chairman, he has a detailed knowledge of the Vögele Group and has played a major part in setting Vögele's current strategic course. Thanks to his many years as a senior manager within the international retail trade, including at Metro/Kaufhof, Bernd Bothe has a wealth of profound experience in our group's core business.
We hope that Daniel Reinhard, who has done so much for the Vögele Group, quickly returns to good health. It will be remembered that when the annual results were released in March 2008 – before there was any sign of his illness – Daniel Reinhard announced his intention to resign his post as soon as a successor was appointed. The search is well under way and should reach a successful conclusion in the near future. In the meantime we wish Daniel Reinhard a speedy and full recovery.
